Excellence in Platinum Clubs LIVE

Excellence in Platinum Clubs LIVE 2016

The inaugural Excellence in Platinum Clubs LIVE event was held on February 21, 2016 and met with great success. This event was co-hosted with the beautiful San Diego Yacht Club and was well attended by more than 75 licensed Platinum Club Managers.

This sunny Southern California day next to the Pacific Ocean commenced in the Frost Room. Top Platinum Club Managers from all over the country and around the world had an opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast, meet their industry peers, network and initiate new friendships.

Following breakfast, our esteemed guests were invited to the Jessop Room, where Club Leaders Forum moderated and welcomed our guests. A brief overview was given on where John Sibbald’s vision for Club Leaders Forum is today, the outlook for the future and how Club Leaders Forum, Platinum Clubs of America and Platinum Clubs of the World promotes Excellence in the Private Club industry.

Club Leaders Forum was proud to invite guest speakers Andrew Wessels and Alasdair Hadden-Patton from The Marque, to the stage. Interesting questions were posed on how to protect and Manage Club Members’ Online Presence. The Marque, “By Invitation Only,” was informative and very well received.

Rolls Royce representatives Parris Mullens and Nacole Gray followed onstage in a question and answer format on How Rolls Royce Faces the Same Challenges as Private Clubs. The audience was surprised that the many challenges these two very different industries have in common. All in attendance enjoyed and benefited from the information presented.

Six of the Club Leaders Forum Advisory Board were in attendance: Terry Anglin (San Diego Yacht Club), Atilla Kardas (Jupiter Hills Club), Jeff McFadden (Union League of Philadelphia), Tim Timlin (Houston Country Club) and Kevin Vitale (Baltusrol Golf Club). They were invited to provide Industry Insights for questions that Platinum Club Managers across the country posed. This segment of the event was very fast paced, informative and loudly applauded.

Club Leaders Forum has created Platinum Partnerships with several club industry vendors that represent quality and the quest for excellence. Our partners were invited to take part in a Rapid Response segment. This interactive segment provided information on their desire to provide the best product and service, mirroring the goals and challenges of Platinum Clubs in America and the World.

The event finished around noon and the guests were invited to taste the Platinum Club Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The wine, exclusive to Platinum Club Licensees, was crafted with the input of a Wine Committee comprised of wine professionals, Platinum Club Board of Advisors, Platinum Club Managers and fine restaurant Managers.

Here is what Club Managers are saying:

“The Excellence in Platinum Clubs LIVE event was extremely worthwhile.  The program had great components from networking with the top managers of the top clubs in America and the World and learning about the direction Club Leaders Forum is headed.  The vision for the future of Platinum Clubs is very exciting and I was honored and proud to attend this inaugural event. My Director of Clubhouse Operations for our Arlington, Virginia property joined me and was extremely impressed with the content and the number of top managers in our industry who were in attendance. I would certainly attend future events as they have great value.  Congratulations to you and Club Leaders Forum.”

Patrick King, GM, Army Navy Country Club, USA

“I was highly impressed with the Clubs Leaders Forum meeting that was held in San Diego before the CMAA conference. It was a great opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with some of the top GMs in the business. The quality of the clubs attending and the dynamic format of the presentations was a great way to present the organization. The Club Leaders Forum will serve not only as a base for establishing great professional relationships but also as a great platform to share information among us and improve the way we manage our clubs.”

Javier Reviriego, GM, Real Club Valderrama, Spain

“I recently attended a symposium organized by Club Leaders Forum while in San Diego for the National CMAA Conference.  The Symposium gathered top managers associated with great Clubs from across the country.  I found the day to be stimulating and enjoyable.  The speakers that were assembled dealt with meaningful issues that have applicability in the Club environment for both day-to-day operations and for long-term strategic needs.  The agenda included distinguished Members of the Club Leaders Forum advisory board sharing their insights and best practices.

As a Platinum Club, Cherry Hills Country Club benefits from an affiliation with other great Clubs through Club Leaders Forum and the Platinum Club Designation.  We are appreciative for the work Club Leaders Forum does through a variety of compelling sources such as their topical and interesting on-line website that provides a wide range of resources, The Forum magazine provides another outstanding source of industry information from leaders whose credibility is unquestioned and relevant, along with the Platinum Club licensing program that helps to define the criteria by which great Clubs from around the nation and the world can be judged and selected. I’m grateful Cherry Hills is part of the Platinum Club program and Club Leaders Forum.  I look forward to the energy and forward thinking future of this outstanding organization.”
